"Do you have a blog?!?!" is a question we get a lot whenever we say that we've been travelling the world while working remotely for three years...

So here it is.

We'll throw in a couple of experiences from before the pandemic, too.

From doing long-distance to becoming nomadic together

You probably know one or both of us if you're here, so WELCOME and THANK YOU! We really appreciate it when friends/family show interest in our travels, and since telling you "all about it" IRL is very hard... we hope something on this page can give you a better insight into the life we're leading.

And perhaps inspire you to get on a flight too? ;)

P.S. Just so you know, it'll mostly be me (Cassie) writing, but I'll try my best to include Eric's perspectives... and not be too long-winded.

Where do you usually stay?

99% of the time, we do monthly bookings on Airbnb, which gets us a good discount. We prefer apartments with a full-sized kitchen, a good workspace, a living room separate from the bedroom, even better if there are two bedrooms (for guests, or just more space) – so it really feels like home. We only pick hotels for super short stays and/or if they're much cheaper than airbnbs.

How do you decide where to go next?

Either because one of us has heard good things about a particular place, or based on proximity to where we already are. Sometimes we pick wherever we can find the best airbnb in for the next month. We usually throw out random ideas and find something that works. It helps that we're both pretty open to new places.

How do you work and travel at the same time?!

We are remote freelancers/contractors. I work Singapore hours mostly, depending on my gig, while Eric works US hours. This means when in Europe, I work in the early mornings and Eric works at night, which gives us the middle of the day for leisure. In the Americas/Asia, we "take turns" to work at night, and mostly only do things over the weekends. Just like leading a "normal life"!

Which is your favourite place/country so far?

This is hard for us to answer because if we have a favourite, we'll probably have decided to base ourselves there now. Every place has its own merits and downsides. To quote Eric: "No where is perfect." So far, Southern Spain, Switzerland, the UK have been our "most common" answers, but to really pick one to live in... only time will tell :)

Aren't you tired?

Yes and no. This is a funny question because nowadays when I look at my friends' itineraries for "12 days in XX", I feel exhausted for them trying to pack so much into so few days (rightly so). Not that we don't do fast travel – we do, but just sometimes. Eric and I try to slow travel by basing ourselves in one place for a whole month, so we can take things slow, chill and "live normally" (and work). So when we get tired from moving around too much, we'll slow down for a month or two to recuperate. Slow travel is just like living at home!

Are you going to keep travelling?

Yes.
